On May 30, 2002, a very special lady and one of my heroines entered eternity. LaVerne Gryte was truly a Royal Treasure woman. I first met LaVerne in 1997. Her encouragement to me
was to clarify and focus the purpose God ordained for my life. LaVerne's purpose was "To Make God Look Good and Christ Well Known." She served on the Board of Royal Treasure from
1998 until 2000 when she resigned for health reasons. She gave generously of her wisdom, her time, her talent, her humor, and her treasure. She always pointed us to Jesus, reminded us to live
from eternity's view, and prayed and encouraged each Royal Treasure woman. Her life made a positive impact on each of us as she showed us how to give, how to love, how to live, and how to
make each moment count. One of her prayers was that she would finish well and her strength would match the length of her days (Deuteronomy 33:25b). She never wanted attention focused on
herself, only on her Lord. What a legacy of a great woman who served an extra-ordinary God! Heaven is richer for her entrance. I picture her among the cloud of witnesses reminding us to grow
in our relationship with and faith in Jesus Christ, to grow in our giving (Just Do It!), and to grow in our love for others. Thank you, LaVerne, for modeling well how to live fully and for
being a wonderful, godly example. Our prayers are with Leonard and your children and grandchildren.
