The Women of Royal Treasure

Each symposium features a session entitled "It's Your Turn" in which women are encouraged to tell of their experiences, passions and how God is leading them to serve His Kingdom. "Let us consider how we may spur one onother on toward love and good deeds." Hebrews 10:24 NIV

One woman who is on the staff of a Christian organization told of her passion to help girls and women, especially pastors' wives and women in leadership positions to renew their passion and experience the joy of doing what God has called them to do. Referring to the story of Nehemiah and the rebuilding of the wall at Jerusalem, she said that each family was given their own section to rebuild. Likewise, she said that there is much that each of us can do both in our families and in our spheres of influence, though sometimes we need help in reigning in all our varied interests to focus on our own portion of "Kingdom work."  Believing she has experience that can help other women, she said, "God drops stuff in your lap and only at Royal Treasure can you figure out what to do with it."

Another woman told of having the responsibility of running the family foundation, a job she loved, but coming to the realization that family relationships were suffering. Having lost the peace and joy she had once had, she knew that God wanted her to focus on rebuilding the relationships, so she resigned. She observed that it is hard for the older generations to trust the younger ones, but that God has blessed her decision to step aside. She and her husband are now making an effort to write down their "God" stories for their children and grandchildren which will become an additional part of the family heritage.

Yet another woman told of receiving a considerable sum of money and deciding with her sons how best to use it. They wanted to do something that would honor the memory of her late husband and of her youngest son who had been killed in an accident. The boys suggested that they give it away to anyone who was in any way related to them, asking only that they use it in some way that would honor the husband and son who were gone. The amount each received was considerable and, living in a small community, family members had many occasions to tell what surprising and wonderful things were happening in their lives as a result. The woman told that God is using these gifts to bring closeness and even reconcilliation to the extended family, as well as a witness to His goodness and provision.

After the symposium a woman writes that she was inspired by the story of one of the women. Her burden is to help women who haven't yet been able to give. She has begun a project in which she provides a woman with a sum of money to be given away to various ministries other than their local church. In addition, she is helping them to overcome any negative mindset that prevents them from experiencing the joy of seeing God at work in their lives and the lives of others.

One woman told of not wanting to just coast in her spiritual life, but to go deeper into the things God has for her. Her passion is politics and she enjoys being a light for Christ in this arena. Another woman who came to Christ later in life, is getting great joy from seeing God use her in international relations involving the leaders of an African country and people forced to live in a refugee camp. She says, "I love my African family like my own. I thank God for what He has done for me at this stage of my life!" Each woman sharing her own story builds up and encourages all the others. Ideas are generated, help offered and insight given. This is just a glimpse into the growing world of Royal Treasure women.
