Family Foundations
Zoe Hicks presented an excellent case for setting up a family foundation. Stewardship is the silent subject of Christianity. In recent years American Christians have neglected to
teach their children about giving. Children do not hear of the joy and fulfillment of giving. In fact most are not even learning money management and are living in a world of credit.
A family foundation can bring the generations together and enable the children and grandchildren to see the mechanics of responsible giving as well as catch the vision and passion for sharing
God's work. Depending on their age, they can participate in selecting grant recipients. A family foundaton also enables the transmission of funds to causes the family wants to support,
avoiding inheritance taxes. While it is not difficult to set up such a foundation as a trust, professional help should be sought to make the application.
The Woman's Estate Planning
Guide by Zoe Hicks is now available, along with numerous other publications on the topics of charitable trusts, retirement plans and issues relating to the transfer of funds.
This issue of "The Royal Steward" focuses on some of the things learned at the recent Royal Treasure Symposium in March.
There are a growing number of opportunities for the women of Royal Treasure to have a significant impact and be a positive influence for God's work. I recently read the statement "There is no greater loss than to come to that purpose in life for which I was born and not be prepared." Royal Treasure is about "preparing" women of substantial financial resources to be the wise Biblical stewards God designed them to be. It is our prayer that no woman would come to that purpose in her life and not be prepared and miss the opportunity that God has for her.
We focused on our unique giftedness, our heart's passions, and the models in scripture of women's giving as well as the "practical living out" of our uniqueness through
wise giving of our treasure, talent, and time. The open sharing of their joy in giving was a great encouragement and motivation for all in attendance.
It is my prayer that
through this issue, you will glean some of the "fruit" which was shared and that your appetite for the richness and joy of giving would be stimulated. I am taking the
liberty to share some prayer requests with you and have enclosed an envelope with this mailing for you to share your thoughts, suggestions, and prayer requests with us.
