Kim Kreiling is a young woman in her 20's who developed a passion at a very young age to honor God with her wealth, though it took a while for her to discover how that might best be done. She was
moved by a movie on the life of St. Francis of Assisi and actually wanted to throw her clothes out her New York City window. Her mother stopped her by suggesting, "Let's think about this." She
counseled her daughter to let some time go by and see how her thinking might develop. Perhaps she would find a better way. Later a friend challenged her, "It's time to embrace your heritage."
That phrase stayed with her and she has come to realize that God wanted not just her money, but herself and He had something important for her to do.
She says, "Whenever I begin to question my personal value and acceptance, I get somewhere quiet and talk with my Savior. Over the years, his words to me have remained the same: 'I love you,' he
tells me. 'I love you and I have called you to be a part of my church. I have a work for you to do and a purpose for your life. I am calling you to walk in love and to serve the poor. Kimberly, I have
placed you on this earth for such a time as this.' Since God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, should we be surprised when we hear today what he said to Queen Esther ages ago?"
Kim delights in serving the poor by providing the means whereby people who have no resources are able to learn to provide for themselves and their families. Through her position with a non-profit
organization she gives others who have abundance the opportunity to experience the same joy at seeing God at work in and through their gifts.
Kim's financial investments in the Kingdom usually start with a nudge by the Holy Spirit. "Then," she says, "I try to discern the best strategy for solving the problem, and the best way to
leverage change with a financial gift. If the amount needed is very large, I might ask a relative if they would like to go in on it with me. Another thing I've learned is to ask for help from friends,
family, and paid advisors who are wiser and more experienced than I and am grateful for their wise counsel."
Kim loves being a part of an organization of people who have the same passion as she does and to use her gifts, resources and herself to further the Kingdom. She's a Royal Treasure woman!
