This issue brings together a story of a woman of history and a Royal Treasure woman of today who unknowingly is carrying on the legacy left by a Christian woman from the 1800's. Royal Treasure is a
ministry that is bringing to light the Biblical, historical and current stories of women and their influence and obedience to God to make a difference in the world in which they live.
A great out-of-print book, Great Women of the Christian Faith, highlights the lives of many women who are largely unknown in today's world. Author, Edith Deen compiled many stories of women and often was
asked, "How did you choose these women?" Her reply, "How do you choose the tallest women in a room of people?" The women she chose indeed tower tall on the pages of history, having
made outstanding spiritual contributions. Mrs. Deen's research often only turned up a line here and a paragraph there and it became obvious that the contribution of women to the life and witness of the
Church had never received just treatment in the hands of church historians. She concluded that women just quietly went about their witness and instruction of their children in the faith, but by writing
these stories, her prayer was that others would be inspired and uplifted.
Royal Treasure has been described as a "training camp" that provides educational formats where women can ask questions and learn from one another in a protected, safe environment. Women are
learning how to grow their investments and giving in a holistic way through practical information, wisdom from one another and with an "if you can, then maybe I can" mentality. Much of the
learning comes from the power of other women's stories. Who are the women you would choose as the tallest women in a room of people? We are looking for the stories of women today and the stories of the
women of the future. I'm excited to find the women God brings across my path like Kimberly who "get it" and are using their resources and influence in positive, life-changing ways. Truly one of
the blessings of Royal Treasure is learning the stories of women who are using their treasure, time and talent for the Kingdom and we share them and pray like Edith that, "they will inspire and
uplift others and make us all more conscious of the significance of Wordsworth's words: '…show us how divine a thing A woman may be made.'"
