Fall 2002
One of the valuable ways to evaluate a ministry is to see where God is at work in it and how He is blessing its effort. It therefore seems appropriate to give you two of
the highlights of what has been happening this year with Royal Treasure.
Shortly after the symposium, we sensed that the Lord had given Royal Treasure an "assignment" to
write and produce materials that would assist the women of Royal Treasure to grow spiritually in the stewardship of their talent, time and treasure. "Stewardship" is often
misunderstood or considered an old-fashioned term, so it was recommended we use a more modern term "personal asset management." We met with Claude King (co-author of the
Experiencing God Bible Study) and conducted three focus groups to further clarify that assignment. The net result is a draft of a new Bible Study that is in final preparation. The draft will
be circulated among the three focus groups and we anticipate the final draft will be available for in-depth teaching at the next pre-symposium in Atlanta (March 13, 2003). There are plans for
additional materials to further educate and equip women to be confident and competent in investing in the work of the Kingdom.
A second highlight involves the vision of Royal Treasure.
It is "a growing community of committed women who are proactive, positive influences impacting eternity through their abundant lives." As we looked at the potential of that vision,
we asked, "How many women might be in the growing community?" We discovered that wealth research has not specifically looked at gender issues or women and faith issues. Russ Alan
Prince and Karen Maru File, co-authors of "The Seven Faces of Philanthropy," have been engaged to conduct such a study to assist women to be wise in their personal asset management.
It is being funded by Nancy and Gary Rathbun, owners of Private Wealth consultants, LLC. Royal Treasure''s Board of Directors has approved our participation in this anonymous study will
involve surveys being sent to between 4,000 and 10,000 women. We encourage you to take part, because we believe this study will asist women, their advisors and those seeking to engage them in
their ministries to understand and value each other and create opportunities for dialog, mutual learning and trust.
Recent statistics show that women own 47% of investments and head over 40% of US households with an ANNUAL income more than $600,000.
Eighty-seven percent of all wealth
ultimately goes through the hands of women, an over-overlooked fact that is finally being recognized. Women have become a major emphasis for many ministries and advisors and it is
increasingly vital for women to understand their own personal asset management. A full report of the results of this study will be presented in March at the next Royal Treasure Symposium.
There are many other "God-things" going on that would take pages to report. Thank you for your prayers for Royal Treasure and thank you for your encouragement and involvement
with God's "assignment" for this growing community of committed women who are proactive, positive influences impacting eternity through their abundant lives.
